“We’ve only been here a week and learned a lot — a lot more than I thought we’d learn, this far in,” the Army veteran said.

“Small tweaks to your routine — what La Reau called ‘1% changes’ — will make a huge difference to your sleep.”

“Urso said that productivity is all about the intersection of cognition and sleep. My 11 a.m. crash, Urso suggested, might have occurred because I wasn’t properly rested the night before, or because I didn’t refuel before and after my morning workout.”

This week, more than 50 Boston police officers have been participating in a four-day wellness, safety, and performance training program created by a group of former Navy SEALs.
